State Agencies Tell Independent Group That Agencies Need More Staff

The State Review of Oil and Gas Environmental Regulations, Inc. met with representatives from each the state agencies that regulate shale gas development. Representatives from each of those agencies, including the Natural Resources Commission, Oil and Gas Commission, and Department of Environmental Quality each expressed the need for additional staff to inspect well sites in the Fayetteville Shale area. The review took place as a result of a request by Arkansas Legislators with an interest in Fayetteville Shale development. An official report is expected within a few months.
