In April, I blogged about the HBO documentary film “Hot Coffee.” It’s an in-depth look into the infamous McDonald’s coffee lawsuit that has taken on a life of its own through countless late night talk show jokes and water cooler exaggerations. This documentary includes interviews with Stella Liebeck, her attorney, and other family members that shed light on the case. The movie also delves into the more sinister efforts by groups such as the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.
The documentary is playing on HBO, June 27th. However, Arkansans have two chances to see it firsthand this weekend at the Little Rock Film Festival. The first showing will be at 2 p.m. at the Clinton School on Saturday and then again at 11 a.m. at the Riverdale Cinema #2 on Sunday. The director, Susan Saladoff, will be at the showings.
