FDA warns of allergy risk with Merck antipsychotic

The Food and Drug Administration issued a warning this week that some users of the Merck antipsychotic drug Saphris have experienced “serious allergic reactions. The agency said patients could experience “anaphylaxis, swelling, low blood pressure and swollen tongue.” The company has revised the label on the drug to reflect the potential risk.
