Vehicle Accidents
The lawyers at McMath Woods P.A. have extensive experience with accident cases involving cars, trucks, tractor-trailers, trains, motorcycles, ATVs, and even bicycles. We will aggressively and ethically pursue for you the maximum compensation provided by law.
We are not a law firm that maintains a big advertizing campaign and processes hundreds of traffic accident cases a year using large support staffs and junior lawyers. We think it is virtually impossible to devote the necessary time and energy that each client deserves when cases are handled on such a large volume basis.
The negligent party’s insurance adjustor knows which firms are looking to process and settle claims with as little legal effort as possible and which ones will work the case up properly. While most plaintiffs prefer to settle their claims rather than go to trial, it is important that the defendant insurance carrier know that the plaintiff is represented by counsel who can and will go to trial if necessary. We have no interest in just processing claims, and we are indeed proud to be considered a law firm that will aggressively represent its clients until the fight is finished.
If you have been in an accident and know or suspect that you have been hurt, give us a call and we will provide you with aggressive representation. That’s the only way we know.
Below are summaries of vehicle accident cases the firm has handled.
Edward Hopkins & Latoya Cole v. Art Express, Inc. & Gilbert Central Corporation, United States District Court, Eastern District of Arkansas, $3.75 Million Settlement
Four members of an extended family were killed by smoke and fire when they were trapped inside their vehicle that was crushed after being hit from behind by a tractor-trailer rig and pushed into the back of another truck. The wreck happened in a construction zone on Interstate 40 just outside of West Memphis, Arkansas. Bruce McMath and Charles Harrison of McMath Woods P.A. were lead attorneys for the estates of three of the four decedents and were successful in developing theories of liability against Gilbert Central Corporation, the general contractor on the highway project, which led directly to a favorable settlement.
The owner of the tractor-trailer rig, Art Express, Inc., paid all of its $750,000 in liability insurance coverage, while Gilbert Central paid an additional $3 million to the four estates to settle the case just a week before the start of trial.
