In
Honor of Former Governor With the death of Sidney S. McMath, McMath Woods P.A. mourns the passing of a founding partner and guiding light. While Sid McMath enjoyed uncommon success in three careers and took great pride in the service he was able to render in each, he was first and last a trial lawyer. Sid McMath viewed the civil justice system and the common law as a cornerstone in Americas democracy, an equalizer in a society with much inequality. He believed there was no higher calling than to advocate for the interest of the individual in a court of law, and inspired and mentored countless young lawyers who wanted to serve before the bar. Love of humanity, compassion and optimism were Sid McMaths defining traits; service was his ambition and inspiration for all he did. While we mourn our individual loss of colleague, mentor, friend, even father, we also grieve with many others for the common loss of so great a man, so positive a spirit, the passing of so great a citizen. "Learn to do right; seek justice, encourage the oppressed; defend the cause of the fatherless; plead the case of the widow." Isaiah 1:17 Click Here for the Obituary that ran in the Arkansas Democrat Gazette
